Bling Wheels on the W123

Being honest, I think they don't look right on the car - too big and flat/slabby.

Personally I prefer the wheels in the first pic :)

On the upside, if you do change your mind those Carat wheels should sell easily

Bbs.

Sorry mate but the most appropriate wheels for a "tuned-bodykit" car of that vintage IMHO are the "performance " wheels of that era -- BBS cross-spokes . Unfortunately probably difficult to get a hold of a clean set now. I should add that you have a stunning collection of cars there - congratulations.

thanks for all the comments guys... the actual plan was to colour the inserts black but i wanted to ensure they would fit right and look good...

ill be keeping them on until at least the next tyre change now...

for some reason, i just dont particularly like the penta's, theres just too much gap between the spokes and dont think it would look right on the car...

would welcome a photoshop impression though!

Im afraid the W123 didnt get on with my bling wheels.. when the car was loaded the front arches were touching the rubber... also didnt like the look anymore so gone back to

The originals wheels look much better than those 'silly' bling ones you tried....wise move! What's with the mellow yellow? If you want yellow, go for the real vibrant 'Yellow!' - guess this is the original Merc yellow which came with the period of these models?

yeh it was a phase... call it 1/4 life crisis...

we bought the car in 1982 at two years old.. its always been sahara yellow...
Its had two bare metal resprays but we've always decided to keep it this way as it makes it unique... i like the looks i get!

Do the decent thing and trade it to Peter Jarvis for the white SL :D.

Somehow, I am reminded of that Peugeot 206 advert......the cool indian dude who transforms his taxi into a 206 and drives around checking out the dames! heh heh.......reckon that's how they look at you?
