Yeah this guy nicked my beer :dk: , so I nicked his sleeping pills.

Wait another five years and you should be able to get it on classic insurance :D

My CLK55 has been insured as a classic for the last five years since I was 26/27, and I think I've paid less than 6 months worth of the A45 price ;)

Only good thing about getting old, cars and the drivers that is

Nice car, If you can afford it, why not; good luck to you. Just take it easy so you don't get to the 6 point mark on your licence.

Congrats on your purchase :thumb:

Have you driven one?

Only reason I ask is, do you know how uncomfortable they are? I'm trying to think back to when I was 18 - perhaps I didn't care if it was comfy.

My estate is having some stone chips repaired that were on it when I bought it a month ago so I have an A series on loan from the same dealer (the Lincoln site) and it's been in my garage unused, waiting to go back. Granted it's not the A45, it's the AMG sport though and the seats are like a park bench (ie wooden) with hardly any padding and the 18" wheels/tyre combination make you feel every single bump in the road. It looks ok but I would never think of buying it (to me it isn't worth 10k never mind the 30k they have it on sale for).

I was only in it for a few minutes and got back ache.

Yes I'm 43 so very old in your eyes but just interested to see what your thoughts are on the 'ride' :)

I'm only 18 !!:D And looking for a nice girl for serious relationship ! Let me know if there's some available .:D :D

As a parent, I would be most concerned about letting an 18 year old son or daughter drive a powerful car like an A45 without supervision.

In fact, I would probably put my foot down and do everything in my powers to persuade any offspring of mine not to take this path and I am rather puzzled by any parent that would be OK with this.

As a parent, I think I'd be more concerned if I saw this post...

As the title says!
Was sort of a spur of the moment, pick it up late October.
Paid £38,000 brand new, panoramic roof, command, white, aerodynamics kit, mirror pack, performance exhaust, that steering wheel (upgraded). (I think that's it?).

Doesn't have the black wheels, so trying to source a set now.
Can't wait!

Btw, I'm 18 haha.

Thing is its one of the safest cars with that power to drive in terms of its close to fool proof as it's so easy to drive. But you're right! 18 is young to be driving that car, dependent on who he is (maturity/ driver skill and responsibility) I mean I was driving a cls55 amg at 21 and nobody on the forum had a go at me. I admit I didn't care to put that in my title but horses for courses.

Also the insurance can be found but I live in Cornwall so low insurance, and the cls cost me £1700 to insure.

Lol, when I was 18, I couldn't care less how comfortable a car was. :D

and I had a toyota mr2 turbo 250 bhp!;)

How the other half live - at 19 I was driving a Hillman Avenger...
(Oh the power...)

Mind you at least thereafter I went to an MG Roadster - not fast - but better than an Avenger!

I wasn't allowed a 105BHP Alfa when I was 18, it was as simple as that...the 'discussion' ended there & then. :(

Maybe they know their son well? Maybe he's not a teenage stereotype?

My best friend had an XR3i and then a 405 SRi when he was 17/18 and he managed to survive those years without crashing/dying/killing someone.

That may be so ... I had a motorcycle with more bhp than an XR3i at 17 and I know how lucky I am to still be alive. If I didn't have the luck of the devil I would be brown bread multiple times over.

A lad at 18 has too much testosterone and too little experience to be driving an A45, without a shadow of doubt.
