Brabus tune A45 AMG

Whatever , it's going to be pretty rare

I've not seen a Brabus'd one yet , bet there are loads of just chipped up ones about though.

Ignore the negative comments. It's not like you went into this with your eyes closed. FWIW I've just had the turbo replaced on mine under warranty. Shudder to think what that would be at MB hourly rates!

congrats Stu on your upgrade. If your happy with the price thats all that matters. Did the dealer offer/show you any other Brabus parts for your A45?

There was a lot of similar hot air from the "experts" about why the c63 507 edition was a rip off, waste of money.... why not get a normal c63 and remap it they said....yawn . If someone has to fret about a 4 k upgrade then they cant afford this value of car.

Why do some people find it so necessary to be unpleasant. Great choice of car and I would have gone down the Brabus route also.

How can you say I got ripped off, I looked at non warranty tunes and the cost, I knew how much the Brabus was and paid what I thought was a reasonable price. Obviously because I work hard and paid cash for my A45 with £5k of extras the +£4K for the Brabus tune was peanuts and I take it back to MB if there is any probs and say fix it for free
Have a nice day

I think you did the right thing. Brabus know their stuff and MB are working together when it comes to warranty. Plus having a Brabus a45amg makes your car much more niche and special!!! Good job.

The stuff that Brabus do is mainly for up grading an A class and the only thing they have at the moment for the A45 is the BHP/Torque increase, I did ask Nils the guy I have been speaking with at Brabus if I could have the exhaust modified/air filter as I saw a post by Giantvanman (Matt Rebellion) and he said no, as any work by a 3rd party would invalidate the warranty that they have now taken over from MB

The main thing that annoyed me about this upgrade was the sudden double of cost!

renny
Yes when I was first looking into it I saw several posts commenting on the upgrade ranging upwards from £2k and then slowly increasing, but by then had it in my head I was having it done, can only think it was the early turbo issues and Brabus thought we do not want to be involved in these issues, so if we are going to be involved by taking over the warranty lets at least have some money in our pockets

Hi Stu,

That's what I original thought BUT although Brabus have taken over your warranty, surely any warranty work unrelated (like the turbo issues) would still need to be covered by MB.

Even £2K was above what was deemed value for money, at least they had the warranty carrot to dangle.

Mate it's an A CLASS. What an utterly ridiculous comment.

For 4k I'd want an extra 70-80bhp at least. Not less than what the other tuners offer for a fifth of the price. Each to their own though, as long as the owners happy.

With regards to the negative comments, it's a forum, you'll get good and bad from people, is what it is.

Brabus take over the drivetrain (Engine and gearbox)

A class A45 AMG with Brabus tune and warranty to be correct

It is just an A-Class, you could have bought a decent car for that money, the 4k I mean.

Only joking, I love the A45 AMG and even better with the Brabus tune and warranty.

Thought we could move on from this, any thoughts on me paying £800 for a private plate ****AMG

I like personalised plates and can see the attraction of an AMG style one.

I would go with something that is not personal for the rest of the plate so when you sell the AMG you can sell the plate with the car, or to another AMG owner.

That's what I thought with the one I have now standard 2 letters (my initials) and year -AMG

Would consider not get one unique to the car. Lost count of the M3 plates I have seen on non-M3's now. Chatted to a few people and they said 'Used to have M3, wife whined about fuel costs welcome to the diesel'.

I agree it is better to spend the money on a non car specific plate. I had a Ferrari 430 and had 430 oo which was great but when I sold the car the new buyer didn't want the plate.

I did manage to sell it but it took a while as the market is limited. I got F1 BHP a few years ago so I could move it from one car to the next and re-sale should be easy for any performance car.
