Eight smart roadster-coupés with higher power and higher torque engines will take part in the celebration rally to mark "100 years of the Solitude race" (25 – 27 July 2003). Two standard three-cylinder engines have been joined to create a v6 bi-turbo with 1,396 cc engine capacity, power output of 125 kW (170 bhp) and torque of 220 Newton metres.

That car looks awesome, will a basic one be in general production, I bet it would be popular with the boy racers and my missus !

The 3cyl Brabus Roadster is supposed to be around £17-18,000 when it goes on sale in september, so I would expect the V6 to be around £25-30,000 if/when it goes into full production.

Nice try, but I've been drawn into that argument far too many times before!

Oh sod it - here goes...

AFAIK the only "real" merc's that offer >200bhp/ton? are the "55 AMG" and "32 AMG" versions, which cost considerably more than 30k

There were two Smart Roadsters at the local dealership last week when I took the car in for trouble-shooting. One was black and silver the other red & silver like the car pictured above. They looked really funky That BRABUS V6 turbo special looks fantastic, shame there weren't any of those kicking about the dealer last week.

Thats not the Brabus version its a Mercedes
The Brabus version will be at the Frankfurt motor show.
I wonder how powerful and fast it will be after Brabus have done their stuff

Don't be under any illusions - Brabus created this beast, even though its under the Smart/MB name - they created the Smart-Brabus GmbH partnership a while ago, to do such stuff as this. The "official" (ie. on sale to the public) Brabus version of the roadster is basically the standard car with the usual Brabus accoutrements wheels, exhaust, pedals, gearknob, and a 95bhp remap - it was announced at the Geneva motorshow this year.
