The budget is tomorrow! Fuel prices due to rise 3p maybe more. Fill up today and avoid the panic buying queueing tomorrow.

also buy your alcohol as that will be going up, up, up, it is now firmly seen as the next horror after smoking. This is not an advert for what we do just based on what I have heard from other folks in the drinks trade.

That explains why all the petrol stations are busy then. Also probably the last time I fill it up for less than £70...

Really, really fun driving to a petrol station to give the government £50 on roads that look like NATO have been practicing runway denial on them. 100% fed up of it - who's for a coup?

In all seriousness, people should be more eager to withhold taxes from a corrupt government that will happily spend our money blowing up children on the other side of the world but can't even cobble together a transportation infrastructure that doesn't damage the property of those who pay for it when they try to use it. Cretinous, cowardly sociopaths, all of them, and if you vote (for anyone) May 6th you deserve everything you get - just can't see why your decisions should be foisted on the rest of us. Illusion of choice indeed.

I wish I could still fill up for anywhere near £70 . Usually around £100 these days ( and that lasts 1/2 week if I am using the car daily ! ) .

Yep...as already said, fuel prices rise next Thursday, April 1st... are they having a laugh? I wonder will last nights TV programme about the sleazy MPs selling themselves (for £3-£5,000 per day) make any difference tomorrow.

I get about 230 miles for my £65. The Landy costs £110 to fill (which I don't, thanks to our society's inability to stop pikey scum siphoning it out as and when they please) and the Golf does about 12mpg...

I'm 2 tankfuls away from a 'free' Lego Ferrari FXX from Shell! Yay!

bring back executions on Tower Hill-- I volunteer to swing the sword [I'm serious] A Place of Execution - Tower of London

I thought the price rise of 3p was on April 1st?
You are correct of course but this will not necessarily have any effect on people waking up tomorrow and hearing "budget, price rise, petrol" in rapid succession on the radio. Lemming like behaviour will ensue- rising to panic levels if the trigger words "strike, shortage, tanker drivers" are used injudiciously on some TV morning chat show.

Well, let's hope then... Nothing like a good bit of mass hysteria to liven things up a bit.

I'm going to go start some rumours about Venezuela, Teamsters and the National Strategic Reserve :thumb:

Spirit Duty

There was talk of raising duty on spirits by £10 or so a bottle. A bottle of Bells Whisky 70 cl would be £24+!

Sounds about right - the true cost of what the powerful and wealthy got away with is obviously going to be suppressed until after the next factional in-fight (May 6th!) so imagine what the first budget of the new parliament looks like..

I predict this budjet will be a 'good' one as stoopid people will fall for it and vote labour back in!

Whereas the smart ones will vote for the party that doesn't even try to hide the fact they're out to screw over the weak for the benefit of their friends?

The smart ones will refuse to give assent to this pantomime plutocracy, and stay at home.

Just filled up ..... i'm a sheep :o

£54 .... nice

are you Michael Foot back from the dead? :D:p

If we all really gave a huge flying f**k about fuel going up 3p, we'd all be driving Smart cars and mopeds!!!

Of course we moan, we're British, we do it because we can and because we are bloody good at it!! lol

I actually enjoy trying to get my 3.2 litre diesel to do 50mpg!!! Up to 46mpg so far...
