I'm looking at doing my own disc and pad change for the first time. I've read a few threads on here about how to do it. I've read you replace the wear sensors along with the pads.
I've been looking at buying some pads and they say on the website, comes with wear sensor wires, does this mean I still have to buy the sensors also?????
Thanks in advance for any help

Firstly is your car a "Facelift" version of the 211?
In other words 2006 or later?
I ask because if its earlier you will have the "SBC" braking system and that requires special precautions to be taken otherwise you risk having crushed fingers !
The later "Face lifted" cars have good old fashioned Servos and so its just like doing any other car.

Some Pad manufacturers supply wear sensors and some do not..
In my experience if you are careful you can remove the old wear sensors and re use them in the new pads.. BUT ONLY IF THE WEAR SENSORS HAVENT BEEN ACTIVATED.. In other words if you have NO warning light on the dash..
If you do have the warning light then you need sensors.

MB dealerships usually keep the wear sensors in stock (and so do ECP.. ECP = European Car Parts).
I think for the relative low cost I would buy a couple anyway..
Usually sensors are just fitted to 1 of the front wheels and 1 of the back wheels. So you would only need a max of 2

Mines the facelift (2008) model. Yeah I've read about the SBC cautions, wasn't aware I could use the old sensors, might give it a try as I haven't had the dashboard warning yet

Always use new sensor wires. They are not expensive.

I'll second that, I reused the old one on my car and a week later I was jacking the car up, removing the wheel to fit a new sensor. Do it right, do it once :-)
