Buying winter tyres... Be quick!!

Three weeks ago I had 4 Vredestein Wintrac 4 extreme 255/50 R19 tyres fitted locally to my Range Rover Sport for £799.

Mytyres today sell the same tyres for £259.70 each, making it £1038.80 plus £65 extra for delivery = £1103.80 total. So buying before the increase saved £304.80.

Will you be using these in the summer too? Or do you have your summer tyres stored to be replaced? Do you have a second set of alloys / steels for the winters?

Finally got round to it this week though. Even with the 20% discount Costco were no cheaper than Event Tyres (mobile), and they refused to do a deal. Costco don't participate in the Michelin £40 cash back offer either so in real terms were a tenner more per tyre than Event.

Deal done. Fitter called at 0845 this morning, so not even two working hours later, to say he'd be with me at around 0915. Great bloke, bang on time, super quick, and appears to have done a good job too. Big thumbs up from me. Only thing less than ideal was they're out of Michelin cashback vouchers, so mine will follow by post.

All round I've been very impressed with Event Tyres.

Received cashback (from Michelin) in the form of £40 worth of Sainsburys vouchers the day before Christmas Eve.

Today I got a huge box through the post containing my Winter Driving Kit, again courtesy of Michelin. :bannana:

A fantastic bag, which doubles as a boot tidy, and includes a really fantastic screen scraper (with mit), de-icer, and top-notch torch.

Best of all it's just the right size to take my Michelin double foot pump and air pressure gauge (coincidental that it's Michelin)!!

Mrs D is trying to snaffle it for her car, it's that good!!

Good feedback, and it looks like that little extra care they seem to take with customers and contact and such is paying off, because word of mouth recommendations such as that can get you jsut as much business from paces like this, then people recommend them at work... and so on

wonder if they are in my area will have to look them up when i need tyres
