C124 Brabus Q3C

Therapy! When I took this picture last year, I got nothing but stick for the rest of the night! Sandbanks Hotel, Poole!

Q3C.jpg

It seems to have had a make over since these photos were taken The lip spoiler has gone.

Saw this car earlier today by the riverside in Isleworth, near Syon Park.

What actually surprised me was that it was RHD, I'd not really looked at the photos in any detail. The owner/occupent was sitting in it as I drove past (with windows down) hence I noticed ;)

According to askmid is a E300 CE, is that what Brabus used to convert them? or is it a fake afterall?

As soon as I saw that first picture I thought the 'Q**' badge looked daft in chrome when the Brabus badge was a different material, then I saw all the other vehicle pictures and that badge is wrong ... It shouldnot be chrome.

Are all the pictures on the first post taken from that other site?

Probably depends on whether it was built by Brabus or if it was merely "tuned" by Brabus. Brabus turn out so many cars and do such extensive work that they are registered as a manufacturer in their own right. As such their factory cars are listed as being built by "Brabus" rather than "Mercedes-Benz".

If a car was tuned by them there is likely nothing in the V5 to show this and the base vehicle could be anything.

Brabus used to convert these from a 300ce. The car Nav had wasnt even specced with leather trim from factory.

The guy who owns the car photographed is John, this car spent quite a lot of time at a certain north london specialist having had the head off 3 times.

Ouch! I take it this has a proper Brabus (3.6?) M103. Aren't the head gaskets several hundred £££ to buy?

I take it this has full Brabus engine/mechanical spec :)? Must be quite a nice car with RHD as well.

Wonder what happened to Nav's old car in the end?

The car is a proper 3.6 m103, the gaskets are £800 IIRC. Its not bad, Nav's one was mint though.

It was bought by a chap who was going to reshell it, he paid £5k for it.

Hi N/B. Really suprised to see my car being discused. Nevertheless the photoes are very nice and you did justice to the car- I own the Brabus Q3C. It is indeed a rare beast. They made 3 cars. Only Two remain. My car is 001. The other car 003 is in Sussex.
Brabus used Q3C firstly that it was a Q car and secondly it was the 300 Coupe. There is a badge inside the car by the gearbox which states the car was made for Portman Lambo -001.
Fantastic car to own and to drive knowing that you will never come across another one in London or elsewhere. I get a lot of very nice comments on the car and also a lot of people wanting to buy the car. I will not sell but am seriously considering sending the car back to Brabus for their new department which restores old classics they have made. I had called Brabus and I am sure other owners too, to let them know that many loyal customers loved their classic cars and not the New ones as there is defintely value in owning and driving a classic car. I use the car regularily and its better for it rather than letting the car sit in a garage to gather dust.

I have spend untold amounts on getting the car just right. Now I think my next move is to send the car to have a full restoration by Brabus.

That is the one that was on Ebay for £5k?

According to a source at Brabus, the car is in fact a 12-valve 300CE, not a 300CE-24 – as detailed on the engine shots.

The M103 BRABUS 3.6 makes 239hp with a cat, or 245hp without one. He isn't sure what Q3 means, though...
