C124 hit a hundred K today..

Parts fitted!

..Well, what can i say, if only i did this in the first place .

all these bits have amounted to a massive difference in the way the car responds feels/drive.

I was very surprised the difference replacing the steering damper has made. It feels more solid and taught. The original which hadnt been ever changed had no damping at all. Just an empty bike pump!

Definate improvement with engine damping from the mounts too. Engine Start up is as smooth as has ever been.

No more slight jerkyness in slow braking as posted in a previous thread, the old disks had become 'warped'. im not so sure However, i still believe this was due to the gear box mount.

The gear box mount was shot! It was corroded and all sqashed up. Compared to the new one i would say there was half inch difference.

Overall the car feels so much better to drive and now i get signs of how it was supposed too drive. I actually thought before it was good!

imagine if i now went back to stock wheels and stock ride height?!:D... it will feel like a Maybach!

It's the first time now I feel a 'finally' moment with my motor in that its all nearly there.

..yes nearly!

Cheers for the updates Bill, it'll be like a new motor once you've finished with it.

Well done. Like you I was amazed at the difference getting these little things sorted makes to the way a 124 drives.

Every time I read one of your updates Billy it makes me think I ought to be spending more money on my car.

I'm trying to avoid spending money on it for the rest of the year if I can.
