C124 seat belt butler fault

My 91 ce300-24. the drivers side seat belt butler has started coming out to the end of its travel and continues untill you switch off ignition or take fuse out.
the problem started about a year ago so i disconnected the door switch and that cured it Until today does anyone know what i could try next.?

If I recall correctly, There are some micro switches that control the start and stop points of the arm. I sounds as though the switch governing the end of travel is stuck open or possibly the cut out on the arm is blocked. You will need to expose the mechanism to investigate. A used presenter mechanism should be easy enough to source if it is required.
