c180 power loss engine cuts out

i have recently bought a 1997 c180 elegance, several times now whilst driving the power fades and revs drop to the point of it barely moving, it has cut out completley aswell twice. i pull over turn it off wait a few seconds and then it starts fine. any ideas on what the problem could be? cheers!!

Hello Sam, I would look at the mass airflow sensor first as this can give the symptoms that you describe. You should find it on the side of the air filter box.
