C220 diesel 2019 picture of a red bonnet when driving

From your description it sounds like the bonnet isn't fully closed. Open it and drop it closed (obviously not from a great height). Simply pushing it closed doesn't always engage the latch fully causing the sensor to think it is open. Caught me out a few times when I had my C Class.

2019 c220 all that’s happening is a red bonnet appears on the screen with no message when put in drive. Cheers

Do you get an alarm also when you drive it? If the bonnet was open you'd also get an audible alarm with that message if you drive it above a certain speed, I think it is around 20 mph.

Yes I do a loud chime which mutes the radio but it’s not speed restricted cheers

Definitely sounds like it thinks the bonnet is open, the reason I mentioned speed was because when I had my 2020 C Class the bonnet warning would only activate on the main road after leaving my estate. Very annoying after quickly checking fluids before driving. As I previously mentioned, I'd check the bonnet was closed properly. Open the bonnet and to close it lower it to about 8 inches and then let it drop. That should secure the latch properly. It can look secure and closed but it may not be. If it is still playing up then it could be the sensor as mention by a previous poster.
