Hi I have just got a c240 w202 and I may sound thick here but my air con doesn't get cold I set the temp cold cold (blue) and turn it on the ec am I doing this right thick I know but before I spend money I want to know I'm doing things right

Thanks Danny

Ive got the same problem, as far as i know, mine needs regassing, but only had the car a week, so others on here may know better.

I found it quite difficult to read your post. When you think your air conditioning is on, is the EC light on or off?

If the red light is off, then the AC is set to be switched on.

If it is not blowing cold there could be several reasons. First get the level of the gas checked. The W202 is prone to leaking from the lower part of the condenser, hence can lose all of its gas.

Take it to Kwickfit and get them to regas it. If there is a leak you will get your money back, but they cannot identify the source of the leak. To find the source you need a specialist to inject a dye into the system and trace the leak by looking for the leaking dye.

Hi sorry about the difficulty reading this I am dyselix and I find it hard to put word together when I think I have put the ec on the red light is showing and off there is no red light

The switch marked 'EC' is Mercedes-speak for 'Economy'.

In reality it is the air conditioning switch, but Mercedes being Mercedes let you know when you have it switched off.

EC switch red light ON = Air Conditioning OFF

EC switch red light OFF = Air Conditioning ON
