The other morning i noticed id lost the use of my indicators, wipers and full beam 'flash' (flicking them on constantly works)

I assume that the relay is to blame here but was wondering if it could be anything else?

Iv read somewhere that it controls lights and hazards too but apart from the fullbeam flash those are working.

Any help would be appreciated!

You could take the relay out, clean the contacts and see if it has any better effect? If not then I think you could get hold of one from a breaker.

Have you checked it's not the stalk?

I havnt checked anything yet, waiting for the rain to stop!

How would i check its not the stork other than swapping it?

Hi,
You can clean the switch contacts of the stalk switch with proper switch cleaner, but where you would put it I,m not sure, maybe take the steering shroud off and spray where the stalk dissapears into its switch block.

What year is the car?

Its a 99.

Iv got a 1995 on the drive i will be selling, would the parts be swappable to test before buying new or did they change in the face lift?

The parts may be different. There were two types made, one with a loom and one without one. The one without is for facelift vehicles as the loom plugs in to the stalk higher up the steering column. On your C43 you will probably need the later stalk without the loom attached. You could take the bottom cover off under the steering column on your '95 and take a look as it may be the facelift type and could be used on your 43.

I think the fault is the relay/s and checking the relays is the easiest rout to try first.
Pictured below is, I think, the set up on your 1995, take a look at your 1999 and see if it has a wiper plug at the Red arrow in picture, if it has this plug then it will have the N10 relay…number 2 in picture.

I don’t think the 1995 relay is located as in picture but you need to check for sure.
Later cars had a different arrangement and the relays are located at the passenger side bonnet hinge electrics.

Err thats not the main fuse box. The main one is on the drivers side in front of the servo as the post above shows.

Yes, i checked the fuses in the main box and they seem fine, just posted that photo as i didnt know what relay to check, if it is even located there.

Is this a permanent failure of the indicators, wipers and full beam 'flash' or do the work some of the time?
Does the rear window demister work?

Dec

They are just not working, i havnt tried the demister yet as iv been using another car.

I looked where the relays where suppose to be according to that picture and on both my cars (99 and 95) they looked different

I think once i know for sure where the relay is and what one it is it should be pretty straight forward from there, unless its something completely different!

Turn on your ignition
Turn on your wipers
Turn on an indicator

Open the bonnet and do some pulling and pushing of the wiring in your photo
It there is a bad or loose connection causing the fault then this action might
cause the wiper or indicator to work again and help to reveal where the fault is located.
