the 55 engine has no water outlet on the back of the right cylinder head as needed for the c43 engine bay. the water out let is for the gear box oil cooler so i sorted it

This is just the sort of thread that forums like this were designed for.

What are the logistics of the electronics? Do you swap ECUs etc or does the new engine run off the C43 electronics?

Where did the motor come from? A W210 E55?

Hi robin,
Glad to see you are making progress with the conversion.
I noticed you have put the coolant outlet on the drivers side cylinder head good call, was it quite simple do? Could it be done with engine and head in place?
On my car the engine and gearbox went In as one unit, though this was mainly because Olly had removed the gearbox and torque convertor and sent it away for a refurb (i had been experiencing T/C issues), are you planning to do anything to the box?

Do you have a solution in mind for the coolant system yet?
Just that while the heads are off specifically the drivers side, you might want to modify the rear facing core plug as the 43 has a water outlet there and the 55 doesn't.
We did,nt realise this when we did mine till the engine was in the car, and with the engine in the car you cannot access the core plug.

yes ive sorted the pipe for the right head

I admire your passion and your work mate as it's an exhausting risky procedure even for a mechanic. Undoubtedly ur occupation will save u from a lot of expenses but it's still a huge hungry engine haha. all the best!

hi andy i think it can be done while the engine is in the car there is some room there. the hard part will be getting the old core plug out:thumb:
