C450 AMG coming in June 2016

Setting aside the emotive issues of whether the C450/C43 is a 'real' AMG, how it handles at the limit compared to a C63 and what kind of driver it's aimed at, this car ticks a lot of boxes and is certainly something I'd consider.

The C63/S is a 'force of nature' type car and one hell of a motor but (for me) I'd still take the C450/C43 with rear biased 4Matic, simply because with our weather it will probably lay more power down more of the time, less spectacular but more efficient.

All depends what flavour of driving you prefer and from that perspective each to their own

I actually think the C43 will be a great car. One of the issues I have with the new 63 is its just far too expensive once you go with the S and add options.

Agreed and I think there will be more latitude to tune the turbo V6 for more power - Brabus already have a box and exhaust to take it to 405hp and that's with them providing a 3 year warranty.

Though I'm not now proposing to relaunch the 'is it a real Brabus' debate

For me a lot of us are talking about numbers and 'performance' as such. How about feel? I was lucky enough a few years back to have a gallardo and a f430 on the driveway.

Both great cars in isolation. However when I could drive only one. It was the f430 that got picked mostly. Reason was about the feel for me. Same reason I love the GTS. Unless the nature of 4wd changes. A 4wd GTS would not be something that adds to the car. More it would take away for me

Going back to the title on the thread, we've seen C450 seems to have become C43. Although nothing official on a saloon.

I'm really interested as to when the"43's" actually become available. I know the SLC already is, it's the info on the C43 and GLC43 that's lacking.

The end is nigh...no more one man one engine for all AMGs.

The end was in 2005/2006 when n/a 55's were made in Stuttgart... trust me - I was there.

I've been waiting for my local dealer to tell me how much it will cost so that I can scrub it off my shopping list as I won't be able to afford it!

He emailed me out of the blue yesterday saying "Just chased up MB uk to see when we will know more about the C43 AMG and have been told there will be an announcement next week, will let you know when I know anything.".

So fingers crossed we'll know more soon.
