C450 AMG coming in June 2016

Am I right in thinking this will be the first RHD 4wd saloon from MB for many years?

I too think it will do well.

The engine

Google: One man, one engine.

This is the basis for every AMG model, except the C450 which ultimately isn't an AMG.

The end is nigh...no more one man one engine for all AMGs.

You know what I meant.

I'm not saying the process is better I'm saying that on the basis the 450 doesn't follow the philosophy it isn't an AMG in the same way my 335i M Sport is not on any level close to my e92 M3.

Loving this thread again.

For myself, AMG need to get real, as they are currently being destroyed by Audi RS models. With the massive power and torque numbers now available from the ubiquitous 4-litre V8 turbos, rear-wheel drive doesn't cut it. I currently drive an Audi S7, which will leave any AMG in the wet, which is the usual UK road condition. My wife has a SLK 350, and I'd happily drive a Merc, if only they'd do an AMG driving all four wheels (not SUV, for the smarter of ****).

Talk for yourself pal ,I'm very happy with rwd.
Audi and BMW is for girls!

Why? Didn't like the C63 as it struggled to get the power down to the road, was terrible on fuel and had 2 doors, while the C450 won't do mega miles it'd be 4 doors and 4WD, nothing like the C63.

Certain cars should only be sold to proper drivers if you asked me!lol

There's clearly an issue with people not being able to drive rear wheel drive, rather than an issue with the cars

+1

Oh come on guys, a proper 4wd system would be rather nice.

Also MB are way behind the times with there gearboxes compared to Audi and BMW.

Yep there's loads moaning about the torque issues on the new M3 I think it's fantastic that it's a handful to drive. The E92 was pretty boring in comparison.

Setting aside the emotive issues of whether the C450/C43 is a 'real' AMG, how it handles at the limit compared to a C63 and what kind of driver it's aimed at, this car ticks a lot of boxes and is certainly something I'd consider.

The C63/S is a 'force of nature' type car and one hell of a motor but (for me) I'd still take the C450/C43 with rear biased 4Matic, simply because with our weather it will probably lay more power down more of the time, less spectacular but more efficient.

All depends what flavour of driving you prefer and from that perspective each to their own :)
