C450 AMG coming in June 2016

For me a lot of us are talking about numbers and 'performance' as such. How about feel? I was lucky enough a few years back to have a gallardo and a f430 on the driveway. Both great cars in isolation. However when I could drive only one. It was the f430 that got picked mostly. Reason was about the feel for me. Same reason I love the GTS. Unless the nature of 4wd changes. A 4wd GTS would not be something that adds to the car. More it would take away for me Isn't that what AMG is about?

Apparently 90% of non UK AMGs sold new are 4wd

Am I missing something - when it says there are no rivals, surely it's 100% head-to-head with Porsche Macan?

How much Macan do you get for £50K by the time it's specced to the same level as the GLC? I haven't looked.

I'm not keen on the Macan to be honest, it looks like an Audi Q3 that's had too much botox. The GLC is a more elegant design (bar the ipad dash gaff of course)

I do however like the Cayenne over all other offerings in that sector of SUV's.

So full pricing for C43 and GLC43 was sent out yesterday. 45k for the saloon and 48k for the GLC.

Thanks JBD. I'd better start saving :D

My dealer sent me the new C class price list last night. I think Mercedes have done a good job positioning the C43. I still wonder if C450 AMG was a better name but I think they've done well making it desirable to people like me that want the performance and excitement of an AMG but not the price tag while not detracting from the full fat 63s which are positioned significantly further up the price and spec list.

These will sell like hotcakes. Already on the MB.co.uk Configurator so I'm going to play with some specs.

I'm really surprised how little publication the C43 Saloon has received. Its as though a saloon doesn't matter next to the coupe.

I've been waiting a long time for this car, like many others in this thread. It's a perfect jump up and replacement for my 2011 C350.

I was looking at the A6 BiTurbo 320bhp which is a lovely car but more pricey with equivalent extras (Equivalent to the E class rather than C, I know).

Still just one thing really annoys me with the current C class... that stupid iPad on the dash!

Looking forward to seeing what PCP and Lease deals start to show... worthy of its own thread maybe?

Jim

Will be interesting what the 4wd system is like.

The price is very tempting, especially if the performance is similar to my 45!

The coupe is one of the best looking cars i've seen in a while but don't know if I can get away with going back to 2 doors!

Just built a C43 Coupe online, the starting price actually being 47,350 not 45,00 as previously stated?

Although the shape is fantastic, the car looks very average considering the price.

With the same tacky front chrome grille as other models as well as their being no optional black multi spoke wheels.

Think I would rather wait to see how the C63 prices drop, you're talking 50,000 after optional extras and it doesn't look a lot different to most C classes on the road. Hopefully I will get to see one at a local dealership soon to get a better look.

The configurator looks a bit broken to me, at least for the Estate, not tried other shapes. You don't seem to be able to remove the Premium Pack despite the fact there is a non-Premium Pack model in the price list.

Talk for yourself pal ,I'm very happy with rwd.
Audi and BMW is for girls!
Audi RS is for men who want to drive fast, AMG is for Jeremys who want to spin wheels. The wife's piddly little 306 horse SLK 350 flashes the traction control light all the time in the wet, or on bumpy back roads, never seen a flicker with my 450 horse S7. Tried a C63 coupe just for that fabulous engine, hopeless even in the dry off the line. 507 horsepower? Nah, more like 300 you can actually put on the Tarmac, until you hit three-figure speeds in the dry.

Silly post really. It's for fools who just want big figures on the dash with little to no theatre along the way. Hence they're boring. Driving fast and having fun driving a car are two different things, very few Audi's are actually a laugh to drive. I'd make an exception for the new RS6 though. Genuinely a good car.
