We have just made a de-cat pipe for C55's

It sounds truly amazing.

Did the original step down in diameter like that?

Has that car ever been driven, or just revved in the workshop? That undertray is too clean for a working vehicle. :p

nice piece of fabrication, what about m.o.t
As the C55 has four cats and this is only the removal of the two, rear (lesser) cats it is not a problem for the MOT.

The more I read about these de-cat jobs the more I need it! Pics saved into the "stuff I need to do" / car pr0n collection!

Sounds (no pun intended) like Olly needs to organise another GTG :)

Hi Olly,

Thanks for putting the pictures up! The pipe work looks fantastic! Can't wait until Friday to collect the car & then drive back home...... I will also record some video & put a link up on Friday afternoon/evening so that everyone can have a listen.

I think a dyno before and after with videos/sounds would be good. A place local to me should be able to do the dyno and will be impartial.

Unfortunately I didn't have the car dyno-ed before the work, however I would like to get it done now & see if there has been any gains. Olly is also fitting Green Filters for me so those will be the only mods on the car at present.

I dyno'd my car recently as I am going to fit AMS headers soon, so i'm doing a before&after runs.

standard the car pushed 374bhp and 381ibft.

I'm hoping to push the car up to 400+bhp after the headers and a re-map.

(maybe a de-cat if I like the sound..) can't wait to hear the video.;)

Will the forthcoming MOT changes affect cars that have been partially de-catted?

Depends on how stringent they're being and whether they are choosing to apply it retrospectively to older cars.

Meaty

I would also like to thank all great post .I bet it sounds meaty. Can't wait to hear this little baby.Hope the mot is not a problem for you,I am sure you have it covered and again keep the mods coming, they are so good to see! and also turn me a slight shade of green but in a "I want that" so these things inspire and drive me foreward:thumb:Thanks for your time.

Euge.

I used Longlife to remove my mid boxes complete with cats. and replace with s/s pipe.......interestingly with slightly different diameter pipe to match the ''upstream'' pipes.
