C55 De-cat pipe

Yesish. It can all be done here. I have a brilliant SS welder.

What were you after?

I had a friend remove the cats and he bent the pipes insted of using mandrel bends, also Kleemann header joint cut off and replaced with V band. stock resonator removed and small silencers put in.

I'd offer mine up but mine has had this treatment already.

However, the job wasn't as well done and I had to have a rattle sorted by my local inde as whoever did it originally used mismatched pipes of which one knocked into the other internally.

How much does it cost (I might consider doing one of these and replacing the back boxes with the Meisterschaft ones at the same time!)?

Go Eisenmann mate, I can get you a good deal..

:D

Sh*t, why did I get rid of my C55...:wallbash:

Get another one. Its only a matter of time before inter one.

C43, C55, C 63 would be my ideal.

I'm normally sat reading this kind of thing without the required hardware.

It makes a change for me...

Get yourself another one.

I need a:

CLK55 208 and 209
E55 210 and E55k211
C63

To make some more.....

I can now make a de-cat for C43's, C55's, C32's

The quality of fabrication is the best and the noise is truly addictive.

I would love to hear a C63 with a de-cat :crazy::D:thumb:

When I had the C43, I didn't miss the C55, but hearing that clip I definately do now!

It all depends what you want. £400-500 should cover it for the pipework and the fabrication. The E55k is much more complicated than a C55 as the pipework is oval in places

Hmm, thanks and whilst that sounds fine ordinarly - I'm not sure I could justify it simply because I'm not happy with the workmanship as it is!

The rattle is cured now in any case but I'd like it to be a bit louder but not insanely loud.

The good thing is that inside the car it is quiet and at 60-70mph it is not intrusive or droning at all. But when you squeeze the throttlenit sounds just fantastic!

Great job Olly :thumb: The sound is devilish too  I'm finally getting mine installed on Friday ;) and I'll make a sound track too :)

Get a video of it up mate once you have had it done

Just had Olly's secondary decat and resonator pipe installed here locally :thumb: and HOLY SMOKE what a noise  :D I LOVE it and have to say that the sound the C43 should have made in the first place. Discrete when potting around but when the pedal goes to the floor its like thunder. Installed also my Green filters and the combination makes it a n° 1 in the sound charts. :)
Will get a sound video during the week-end with a decent camera and microphone and I'll post it here when done

Lol, yup, that's a natural bi-product of it.

If you drive up any side road with buildings or walls either side - the reverberation is great.

Try a tunnel if you have one close by!

Will a decat have a negative effect on fuel consumption?

I'm assuming the ECU will try and compensate for the reduced back pressure by increasing the fueling with a slight increase in power and decrease in mpg - or is my ying and yang theory misconstrued?

Or with a less restrictive exhaust will the engine breathe better and not have to work so hard to produce the same results? :)

I'm sure I read that fuel economy is slightly improved with the removal of catalytic converters - assuming you're not hooning about everywhere and flooring the pedal to hear the exhaust roar. Oh dear!

Actually it should have a positive effect. More torque....

The ECu can't measure back pressure.
