C63 & Cycling

Afternoon all.

I realise that this car is not your average to throw a bike rack on but, it is my only car so I want a clean way of transporting my other hobby (MTB) to and from the places I enjoy using it.

Can anyone name some systems that allow this, either roof mounted or boot mounted for a C63 coupe? I notice that I have roof rail mounting points so the body at least was intended to be able to carry things up there.

Thule make some good systems including the ability to lock the bikes while they are on the roof.

Your MPG will be shocking though!!

This topic is right up my street. I am a cyclist and I've made a waterproof plastic tub that fits snugly inside my c507 coupe. It transports my mountain and road bikes without any risk of damage to the car. Ill post some pictures up on Friday.

With the roof bars, I'd take them off any time I wasn't strapping a bike to it but, this tub idea sounds good.

I used roof bars on my C55. It was a bit of pain constant on and off. I would look at some boot racks designed for spoilers etc.

I carry my bikes on a Thule rack mounted on a tow bar. The bikes are steady as a rock although I don't recommend you putting a hitch on your c63.

I went for Thule on my cls55 but im not so sure they have the mounting threads on top of a c63?
