I bought them from ebay but didnt like them because they are to bright. The ones you buy from ebay replaces the complete units. What I did was buy led lights origanly meant for the `eyebrows` in the headlights and placed those in the original license plate sockets. Still led but not looking like you have two flashlights attached to your license plate.

Absolutely fella, know what you mean! Even thought about smaller letters on the plate, did this on the sports bikes I once owned...........Attracted the traffic cops like blue bottles to vomit: F—k –f.
Did see the LED’s on a white E63, looked quite effective but at the same time quite subtle!

Lol, I hear what you're saying but for most people that want to swap out the original bulbs for LED's, it's the crisper light that they are after.
LED light looks great bouncing off shiny paintwork.
