C63 prices

Yeah but a Good spec new c63s is £70-£75k which is nearly double. I think that's too much of a gap personally

That's a bit of an unfair comparison. Other than ticking the carbon boxes that's a fully loaded C63 S which is the top end model.

A C63 base with maybe just the premium pack would be a well specified car to compare with an old C63. No one mentioned comparing it to a 507 or black series so S shouldn't come into it on the new car.

The 204 C63 looks considerably better than the 205 imo. The rear looks more aggressive as does the front and is aesthetically more pleasing. Also the 204 facelift doesn't look dated at all and is a design masterpiece, nothing I can really fault about the car...

The only 2 things the 205 has IMO is the newer engine Whch delivers better mpg and also more modern interior... Not worth double the price of a 204 63

Mercedes, without fail, bring out a new model and the owners of the previous model slag it off then after six months to a year of seeing more on the road the opinions sway the other way.

Any big engined Merc AMG is 'iconic' in its own right, but let's not forget it's a C-Class which is a model that has a 95% target audience as a rep mobile.

I think the 205 is a seriously nice car but still think the 204 is an all round better looking car. The 205 interior looks far more superior but thats to be expected.

Obv some 204 C63's looks nicer than others but with the right colour and wheels it does look amazing. Also I think the saloon or estate looks nicer than the coupe

I thought this was a discussion about if a newer model is worth it. Looks are subjective, the new car looks great in my opinion but agree it's much more of a sleeper than the last model.

However that's somewhat missing the point on how the new one from the reviews drives nicer than the last, it's faster, more fuel efficient, corners better, gearbox changes faster, etc, etc. Up to you if that's worth the extra money but it's a lot more than just an exterior and interior change.

As someone else said, always the same story when a new model comes out. As much as they try to improve on the old model and normally do in most areas there might be somewhere that suffers and people focus on that why their model is still better. Both are great cars, the W205 is better than the W204 in a lot of areas and only you can decide if that makes it worth the extra money right now. Give both a drive before you judge as that's what really matters.

Have you actually driven one? The new cars handling is sublime compared with the W204. The steering is point and go, the suspension is wonderfully balanced no matter which setting you have. The grunt is available from 1500 revs rather than 4000 which makes it a totally different drive.

No I haven't driven one... I don't doubt the new car will be better in every way as it should be. Once prices have dropped it would definitely be a potential next car, either that or E63 AMG TT. Would need to be a few years at least when values have plummeted & cars are buyable for cash or Merc offer 0% interest on finance

of course it will be tecnologically superior than the previous model thats the natural order of things i think the only thing to ask yourself is
A/is it worth the xtra and tbh it probably is
B/do you like its looks
i think the interior is superb a great mix of race and luxury,,its the outside ime not sold on
i couldnt afford a new one so am more than happy with my 2014 old model
on the road you will never exploit the potential of either car unless you are a moronic lunatic with total disregard for other peoples safety
however i have gone the exhaust and remap route and shd net 530bhp
and plan on eventually popping a weistec stage 1 kit on there for 630/570 figures that shd net a 10.8 1/4 mile plus some carbon styling which i blve will make this a superb car
every time i start the car heads turn with the sound and thats before the mods
to get the same from the new one i think youre going to have to alter the exhaust
all in all both models are superb so you pays your money and takes your choice..a lot of people slagging the new one will be because they cant afford it for me it is just the looks of exterior..interior wins hands down

I get where you are coming from gasman.

My 204 has been the nicest car I've owned, it's brilliant. The theatre of the car is unrivalled apart from much more expensive Hypercars. The looks you get, the comments, the head turning.

But I've had it for 2 years. It's time to move on. New models always take some getting used to. The c63s 205 is quicker than mine with only 510bhp v 551bhp. The interior is wonderful in full leather, no plastic to creak and rattle. But the main thing is the handling and balance of the car. It's sublime in comparison. Plus the noise is nearly as good as my IPE loaded car (but not quite :D)
