C63 rear end rattle

I can hear a rattle coming from the rear end of my C63 when going over sharp bumps such as slightly raised man hole covers or sunken road repairs. Has anyone else experienced this from a car that isn't 3 years old yet? I have heard a similar sound from an old Lexus IS I had but that was on 160k miles!

Currently only seems to be doing it from the o/s, was thinking maybe something to do with the brake calliper although there is nothing I can see loose. I mentioned it to the dealer last week when my car was back there for post sale defects and they said they would find it hard to pin point the noise!

Would be good to advise them of what it might be as they seem to have needed suggestion from other sources to rectify a faulty throttle sensor.

Safe to say I am totally deflated by the 'Approved' part of MB used section :(

It's under warranty.

Road test it with a tech so you can show them the issue.

The brake pad carrier plate could be slightly (1mm) narrower than the calliper. If it's had aftermarket pads fitted it's more likely.

I've had the same issue.

Car ended up going back to dealers and the rattle turned out to be the hand brake but all sorted now amongst some other issues which weren't rectified 1st time the car went back.

Got a copy of the service history and apparently it has only had one service at 15k miles (service B) in sept 2014. Car was registered dec 2012 and has just short of 18k miles now. Would/should there of been a service A? Says next service is due sept 2015 or 27k miles.

Thanks

Ollie

Yes, your car is due a service every 12 months or approx 15k miles.

Yep, service A is the first one - looks like they've been naughty.

Thanks for the replies.

Surely that's down to the previous owner? If they didn't do service A at a year old then waited until 15k miles by which time the car was 21 months old so MB did a B service to make up for the time elapsed?
