I've have had my 2013 C63 For 6 weeks now, very happy with it :) but I have noticed an annoying squeal when coming to a stop or in traffic.

Have not contacted the dealer yet wanted to see if anyone else has this problem.

Thanks. Paul

Doesn't happen on my 2013 car,

Maybe the pads need re fitting

There is a recall for squealing rear brakes they will replace the pads free of charge I had mine done on its service.

The car has only covered 2500 miles, Thanks for the info on the recall I'll contact my local dealer.

My 2012 does this (covered 12k mikes). Dealer couldn't recreate it last week so will be taking them out for a drive in it myself. Now that I know there's been a recall I'll be forcing the issue. Thanks.

I'm not sure there's actually been a 'recall' as this would involve all C63 registered keepers getting a letter, and I certainly haven't had one. I think that it's a known problem but it's up to individual dealers to decide if it's warranty work or not. There has probably been a directive issued from MK. The same as the rattle problem which I had done under warranty last week but the service guy said strictly speaking wasn't a warranty issue.
Good luck with sorting it.

Owners are notified only about safety-related recalls. Other recalls are simply being dealt with when the car is next serviced at the dealer, or if the owner complains about the specific issue. Squealing brakes is not a safety issue so if there was a recall then owners would not have to be notified.

Recall was maybe the wrong word to use? But either way your local dealer should be able to sort it out.

Picked mine up on Tuesday. 2012 with 12000 miles and it started sqealing today during the final 20-15 miles per hour of slowing.Only when urban driving, not from speed. I just assumed the discs/pads were dry? Loud enough for people to be turning to see whats making the noise.

So glad you posted this THANKS to OP, ok I thought it was just me my 2012 C63 sounds like a bus!!!!! My missus even my boss was like why is it so loud? It's sounds like an absolute rust bucket took it to the dealer they said they couldn't hear anything at all (dealership is in countryside I live in London so it's completely different!) Maybe I should try call them again and explain others are expeirencing it? It's so so embarissing!

so today I took the car to a local dealer to get the brakes checked, I said that other owners have had this problem.

after 30 mins he came back to me and said it's not a recall but on the Mercedes system they have a section called "tips" which notifies him of other cars that have had this problem, He confirmed what Skeeno said and the back pads need replacing.

He then proceeded to tell me that this was not covered under warranty and I would get a bill for £400, I could see through the windows the technician already had the wheels off and had started the job, we had a bit of a discussion about this!! I said the car has only covered 2500 miles and I have had the car for 7 weeks surely this would be under warranty?! so I swiftly told him to put the wheels back on and I will be taking it up with MB customer services tomorrow.

He did add in the end they would have probably done the work if I had purchased the car from them, had a similar problem at another dealer they did not want to know as I did not purchase from them, also part of the same group I will not be using them again!!!

Just to update I didn't buy my car from my local dealer in oxford I have only owned it for 6 months with it having only done 11k miles but they still changed them for free on my service.

Hi guys just an update from me also (if it helps anyone) I have had this issue resolved by dealer free of charge and it doesn't make a sound! Very happy.

Guys this is an official MB recall.

My 2013 car was fixed FOC.

Covers rear brakes only.

Has anyone had theirs fixed at Oxford Mercedes, mine are now squealing?

Yes mate had mine done at kidlington, oxford with no problem free of charge.
