it works well in the 211 and given the cost of a C63 one of the cheaper things on it. Signal very good in my car, can take calls without invoking the wrath of white capped men with cars with blue lights on their roof.
Yes but they all have bluetooth connectivity now so you don't really need it. Unless you want to buy the cradle and change it every time you change your phone. And you are limited to the phones for which MB do a cradle.

Or you by a ViseeO Bluetooth device like I did - then you can use any Bluetooth phone.

This offers no advantage over the existing BT connection, both are HFP. To utilise the external aerial for better reception etc you need pre wiring then either use rSap module or cradle designed for your phone. Suppose it all depends on how much you use your phone whilst driving.

SAP modules are very good, excellent signal strength, due to using the car's aerial and they save phone battery as the phone goes into 'sleep' mode. :thumb:

I just happen to have such a module for sale, see here  :D

The reason for the pre-wire is I have use of 2 phones. Rather than have them both rattling about, I thought I may get a cradle for my phone, and have the company one rattle about, scratch itself and go flat using the bluetooth, and mine can sit in the car cradle happy. I am on call 1 week out of 5, so some people who should know better can ring me to tell them that the decison they have just taken was the right one:wallbash:

And it does Text to Voice so it reads your SMS to you.

It would help when I travel back to the UK really, but still not fully thought it thru.:dk:

I don't change my phone often enough for it to be an issue.

But you ignore the fact that many/most recent MBs come with ASR (acceleration skid control) and ESP as well. In normal use on normal UK roads it is pretty hard to make a case for more.

Even the 4 litre diesels don't need limited slip nowadays because ESP and ASR work so well. Unless you are doing track work and want to switch the ESP off.

But on an island with a 35mph speed limit, why bother?

I'm an LSD fan - electrics just numb things, LSD means steering on the throttle - huge difference in feel. I've always maintained that it's a crime that my last two cars (AMG's) don't have 'em when my previous two (200SX's) did. As, indeed, did an Alfa Spider I ran more that 20 years ago.

With all that self restraint you'll need on the island, we'll have to get you back to VMAX with that. Nice choice. Still pine for a 300C SRT8 after that ride in yours.

PS. LSD a must, go for the whole pack, none of this makes any economic sense, just get ticking. Give Maff a call he'll give you some advice on how to squander on 4 wheels more effectivly.

The only colour it should be is black.......................just not silver.

Black estate car = hearse

Deep metallic red would be really nice but it looks like Mercedes-Benz does not offer that choice

I have give the V-MAX some thought and might work out a trip back. I need a bit of notice to organise things however, and where is Maff anyway?

I think we have established that LSD and PP are none starters purely for the point they don't add anything to the normal day to day usage, but provide an even firmer ride, brakes that need some serious warming up to prevent squeaks and a device which helps when you are wanting to leave your tyres on the road. I feel exploiting the performance potential of this car, on public roads, to the extent where LSD is required, is somewhat dangerous.

And £3k for all that is also a few ferry trips back to the UK. I would much rather drive within my own capabilties, exploiting the tiny edges of the performance here and there, and visit the UK a few times.

in other words. I have a better option for that £3k.

And I still need to buy a TV.

Chaps, does the C63 only run on Super-unleaded or does it also take the normal stuff?

Id go for white. People worry too much about dirt. But ive seen people around here driving white C class from last year with so much dust and grime on the car. But they know when they wash the car its going to sparkle more than the boring silver and grey cars anyway.

When the sun comes out your blinging. For some reason white cars look more posh. I dunno about red. steady on! lol. That is a bold colour. You have to be bold with red.

thats like a serial binge drinker only drinking water at the pub right?!:D
or a gym addict not eating enough protein?!
or a mercedes with tough resistant steering wheel?!

id say super unleaded for high performance vehicles but if you out of pocket then unleaded can do but not recommended dont think.

reminds me of the saying, "If you have to ask you cannot afford to run it!"

I would pour anything down its throat that made that rumble more appealing... Rum, brandy, whiskey, octane, lead, baritone juice :)

I wonder if you took it in the bathroom, would it make that rumble more appealing? I know my singing voice is exceptional when I am soaking in a bath of bubbly :D

Lol - Mercedes owners have the right to watch the pennies! Just wondering is all :-)

:thumb: I was just having a giggle and it is a good question ... I would spoil it, but as yoy say, is it a requirement :)

This is an interesting question.... I run my C55 on super unleaded. The MB dealer that I bought it from said that I could run it on regular unleaded but so far I haven't switched. I'm not too bothered about the cost as I don't do that much mileage but I would be interested in other owner's views.

It will run happily on both. It can tell the difference so it may adjust some paramters when running on 95ron, and won't give full 100%, but you would need a stopwatch to notice the difference.

Oh yeah, 98ron is 84p-89p ltr here.

it will get up there at some point.

Congrats on the car choice Scumbag...i'm like John..not at all envious :D..

Just make you sure you let me know when your up in Scotland...I'll probably hear you on the M8 anyway.......:D:D:D

I'm sure you need a pilots license for the C63!!!!!!!! :bannana:

not even slightly envious...not one little bit...
at all...............
Just off to double check my lottory numbers.........................

I have 2 trips to Oban to make..........so I guess I should time them with a GTG in that neck of the woods.
