Ok I'll stick my oar in here too.

As someone with a very small bit of experience regarding the C63, :o, I have to agree with the Limited Slip supporters. I have driven both and whilst I do not drive like a loon (well most times anyway) having it gives a more sure footed experience than not, especially in the wet, and whilst I am no where near a very good driver :( I still think its easy the best option I ticked on my " oh! I don't really need it but I'll get it anyway options box" and it's not regretted one little bit.....

As for colour I was seriously tempted to go for red (NOT CARNEOL) but the nice fire red, but as you say its a bit boy racer.... so I went for black just so I could have the Sahara Beige interior.

One last thing, get the 19" alloys don't even think about not doing it. :D

Good luck nice choice of car, and its a great big thumbs up from me.....:thumb:

Mark.

No. less is more. And I like the 5 spokers. the multi spokes were on the SLK. I need a change.

Well I suppose if one is being silly enough to buy a 6 litre car to do 35 mph maximum one might as well compound the stupidity by raiding the toy cupboard as well.:)

When I drove the C63, I thought it was mental.....Economics made my decision for me but I did have second thoughts before this point anyway.

Now things are starting to recover and I'll be changing my current car in a year I've decided what I'd really like is a 280 CDi or 320 CDi if it's a new lease car. C, E or possibly an ML.

I'd like a C63 or something similar don't get me wrong...I'm just not sure I could live with it as a daily driver (harsh ride, fuel costs, tyres etc).

I do dislike the clatter of diesel engined car, but the deals are so good on these business oriented cars that the petrol equivalent are just so much more expensive. I guess I've become sensible.....

My opioin for what its worth (not much). Mark, go for what you want. Let others drool or scorn. Their choice. Me? I would love to be in your position.

Oh and if you're buying this from Jacksons and your dealer contact there happens to be Darron (probably the business manager) do say Alan said Hi, He's a very old friend, I was best man at his wedding a few years ago.

I took him by surprise when I did. He also said he felt bad as he hasn't kept in touch....then he said something about "owing you some money"

Damn small world isn't it?

I drove a C63 at Brooklands a few weeks ago and I have to say that it is an awesome car. My C55 on the other hand ticks most of my boxes. The 63 reminds me of the V10 M5 - which I nearly bought... all get up and go - whereas the C55 is more 'relaxed' and definitely more discrete. Difficult to appreciate perhaps but that's my rationale.

My C55 was a one-lady-owner car - she traded it at the dealer for a C63 - so there must be something in it.

All I can say is that if you have the appetite for the sheer ooomph and everything that goes with that - then go for it. I may well join you in a year or so's time - for now, a 5.5 litre V8 does it for me..............

Enjoy......

He will - this thread is just to rub salt in our wounds...:D

You don't do things by half do you Mark? From a Chrysler 300C Hemi to a C63AMG via a Skoda

Good luck mate - how are you gettin on in Guernsey? I shared a mess in the Navy with a guy (Le Tissier I think) many years ago whose Grandmother allegedly owned something like 2 thirds of the island and could trace his lineage back directly to Marie Antoinette.

Anyway, do they still practice Droit Du Seigneur over there?:D:bannana:

P.S. And I certainly want a ride!
P.P.S The P.S above was not connected with my question about Driot Du Seigneur above :D
P.P.P.S I could of course be lying ;)

That made me chuckle. Still Guernsey isn't exactly just down the road to pop in and see him.

I'd forgotten He owed me money!

Its great here. I don't know how the island is divided, but not many homeless and vagrants about.

I believe thats SARK, and as far as I am aware, its till in the "Pleas"

P.S. And I certainly want a ride!

Well, I guess you are first in the queue. And it appears not to be a long one.

Guess it will be 2010 sometime.

And the choices on the doors confirmed in principle are :

Tenorite Grey. (Saw carneol red today.......yak)
grey interior
COMAND (which now includes media interface)
HK Logic 7
Parktronic.
Reverse Camera:thumb:
de-badged.
maple wood.

Still undecided on the pre-wire.

checked out the blue sample against and BMW in the dealership......the BMW blue was better. Chose grey.

Get the pre wire....its worth every penny.

Unfortunately the options tend to eat money faster than a blind date, but the pre wire is a good idea. I am no telephone expert, but does the car's antenna improve the reception\signal

it works well in the 211 and given the cost of a C63 one of the cheaper things on it. Signal very good in my car, can take calls without invoking the wrath of white capped men with cars with blue lights on their roof.

Only if you're using a cradle with phone in it or the rSap module --

Just opened this thread.

Question, if you stamp in the loud pedal will the Island start moving under the car :)

As others have said even with the UK speed limit at 70mph cars such as these are more about 'having' it than using it...

However is you be very rude not to take it on a track or europe, (Mountain road in the alps with tunnels would do for me :)

Enjoy the car when you get it.
