Hi,

I just sold my C63 after 2 fantastic years, and went all sensible after averagiing about 16mpg.... I've now got a 2010 E350 CDI cabriolet - hoping it'll be better on fuel - even if it doesn't sound as awesome.

The only issue I have is the steering wheel - it's HUGE! I've got used to the nice shape and size of my C63 steering wheel - so I'm wondering if I can upgrade to an AMG wheel from a C63 or E63?

I'd like the newer type with the silver metal part (I think 2011 onwards) - has anyone done this, or have any advice?

Any advice appreciated!

Yeah it can be done, very simple swap and is plug & play just need to disconnect the battery beforehand. There are guides on youtube and the like for it.

Lots of merc steering wheels are interchangable, currently looking for SL55 one for 209

That's great - thanks. Dr-Nab - have you changed yours? I can see you've made a few changes on yours. I actually saw your car at Silverstone - nice.

Thanks :)

I haven't made the change however I did buy a newer wheel from a breaker, added carbon AMG paddles and carbon surround for the buttons but had a ridiculous offer for it so sold it on, never really been that fussed thereafter but might make the change in the new year.

It is a nice steady DIY job but if you don't fancy it then I'm sure an MB indie would do it within an hour or so, main thing is to make sure you don't set the airbag off hence disconnecting the battery. Occasionally a cheap-ish wheel will appear on ebay so always worth snapping up. A guy I know fitted the steering wheel from the new A-Class to his E-Coupe but added the Brabus paddles and it looks really good.
