Can the SLK Minispare space saver spare wheel be reused?

My R171 2006 SLK caught a puncture last night and when I went to get the spare I realised it was deflated and had a small compressor to pump it up.

I have since read that some spare tyre kits also come with some tyre sealant - but mine only had the pump.

The question is: Can I deflate it again and reuse it?

The manual is not quite clear, it tells you that if you want to store it again you can deflate it to put it back into its space, but its not quite clear if I could use it again (and pump it up again) if I get another flat?

anyone know?

Yes.

As long as it doesn't get worn or damaged.

Ours (older SLK) has been used a couple of times.

Yes it can be reused but getting the air to let it collapse enough to fit in its place can be a problem. We carry a can of sealant aswell to try and avoid using the ridiculous spare. Also the proper wheel (17 inch on ours) wont fit in the boot once it has been changed!

Thanks! you are right about the punctured wheel not fitting in the boot - luckily the boot was almost empty.

I have started to see the benefits of run-flats...
