Car
MK5 Golf GTI + C63 AMG
Had my 204 facelift C63 for a few months now and for some reason can't gel with it... Not sure why but a few annoyences I have are,

Ride too harsh in Edin roads (running 19" wheels)

Auto box can be frustrating

At even 75% throttle can't get traction in 1st gear and rarely in second (car has Quaife and remap) and currently im not sure if the map has been wiped off on last service...

Anyone else like this or just me?

Well I'll take it off your hands if it's that unbearable... :D

Ride too harsh in Edin roads (running 19" wheels) - Should be a comfy ride in C mode :dk:

Auto box can be frustrating - TCU remap

Tried to answer your questions

The map should also not have been wiped off from a service of any kind as far as im aware.

well had mine about 2 months and find it superb...goes like stink stops on a sixpence looks great sounds great try a subaru with coilovers or a cooper jcw and then complain about a hard ride

Cars running normal conti 5's,

Usually try to drive in M so I can control gears myself but usually in C around town etc..

When I say map wiped off i mean from a ecu software update... Due to work commitments I can't get to a Dyno for the next few months... Is there any other way to tell if the car is still running the eurocharged map?

if u had the v5 map with autoblip put in s+ and hit a long straight road and brake hard and wait for the blip

I've done this on the motorway and braking hard from 3 figure speeds the car did auto blip coming down the gears. Don't non mapped C63's do this?

Prev owner mapped car, not sure if it was V5 map....

Are you saying you've driven it mapped and now after a service it might no longer be mapped, but you can't tell?

That doesn't say much for the map :dk:.

no autoblip is not standard it is added when remapped

On E's with M156 the up and down "blip" is standard in S+ and M.

I can't see why a C63 with M156 would be any different.

No, I bought the car mapped. Maybe Im expecting too much performance from the car and it may well still be mapped

I thought you was complaining it had too much performance because at 75% throttle the car is breaking traction in 1st and 2nd.

Not got my C63S yet and my current 335d is an xDrive so you can go 100% throttle from standstill and it'll just leap off the line. However had a rear wheel drive 330d before which no where near as much bhp had a lot of torque as it was a diesel. I found on that you had to be gentle with the throttle to get it rolling off the line and then you could increase the throttle quickly to fully open.

The BMW's traction control in that car sucked though. If you got it wrong it would sap all the performance so badly that a 1.0 litre banger could have you off the line. ;)

At least in the C63S I tried the traction control was extremely good. I could give the car far too much throttle far too quickly and it wiggled the back slightly and then just dealt with it perfectly. The M5 again was pretty poor in this regard, the back would wiggle and then far too much power would be sapped.

I guess once used to it you should know the cars limits and how to get a good start but Mercs traction control system is far better than BMW's in my opinion. So when you get it wrong you won't be left with egg on your face in the Merc.
