Car arrived....but

Even I disagree with this. Diesels are worth more than petrol, never more so than now.

For 200 quid and free transport from a buddy. Bargain, a complete steal.

I look forward to todays posts and if I listen really carefully - the sound of a soon to be loved diesel Merc firing up.

Good Luck.

Moron, diesels are not only worth more, they are much more desirable.

I would be annoyed if I found a petrol these days.

Unless of course it had over 350bhp, in which I still couldn't bring myself to use everyday.

Although I do tend to agree with your sentiment...probably not the most tactful way to start a post.;)

Lets not take this guys thread off topic. Everyone knows a diesel it worth more. If Sonny wants to debate this he can start his own thread.

cant use a 350bhp car everyday...... are you a lady?

im sure diesels are worth more.. but arnt we talking about 202s here... talking on what 202 model is more expensive is splitting hairs.. i have seen c180 go for 2k and just recently a member sold his 202 for £3800 and it was only a 230k!! £3800 gets a very clean c36... so in the case of 202's to which i currently own and have sold some, i dont really think there is a set price diesel or petrol.... and desirability is to each hi own. id rather catch the buss than own one... i never worry about mpg couldn't care less about it so why would i want a van sounding car.. if mpg is your worry by all means get a diesel.

This thread is getting silly now.

I won't be adding anything else in this thread as I have started an update thread on progress. Please come and join me in that thread for the latest news.......

I think thats a bit offensive to women 'Sonny' son, dont you!??...and unfortunately, no its not because I'm a lady...its due to 100mile a day commute...I dont mind admitting lol...i'd rather spend my money on, a nice holiday, a good night out, a decent shag?...anything than spending half my life calling in fuel stations, to be ripped off!? As for BHP, Weekend/Fun, I own a Ford Escort MK2 - RS1600, Cosworth Conversion, which pulls 395bhp or 430bhp depending on Map Settings?...

So 'cruise away' Sonny lad in your un inspiring lump a dunk. :D all the best! ;)

To be fair , it all depends on the buyer .

For some , MPG is more important than all else .

Others will never want a car that sounds like a tractor when you start it up .

Different cars for different markets .

Are you sure about that ??

Re-Read it. Correct in the fact that a Ford Escort RS1600 would never ever, ever, ever, everrr! run those HP figures. :wallbash:

BUT please take time to read that...this, Scott, has a Cosworth engine Conversion. Making those figures...entirely possible

The 1990's 2-litre Escort RS Cosworth was turbocharged and produced 220bhp so 430bhp still seems somewhat optimistic to say the least..........

I would agree given that Mark managed about 330Bhp from his well turbo'd Civic Vtec with nitrous.

Using the figures of a 2 litre engine, max power produced at 6,000 revs, that gives a Bmep of 32.7.

someone's having a laugh.
