Car park dent

Once the high spots are done then you start work on the lowspots, other wise known as the dent!

Wouldn't want to bump into him in a dark alley way :o

Seriously, these techniques are to do the job quicker without removing the door card are they?

And I thought having a tooth filling was painful?? The series of photographs are excellent and very informative.

Obviously delicate work calls for precision instruments :)

I am sure he knows what he is doing and you will be more than pleased with the result.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post the pictures.

You sound very pleased with the work, and hopefully Kris will not get to inundated with questions.

Brilliant pictures with a brilliant result.

I would think so Graham as from what I know they have to be able to fully access the dent from behind normally.

RSD2: Flad u got it sorted. :)

It does look good I must admit, despite being sceptical about the technique. Having said that I know nothing about repairing dents, so maybe I should keep quiet!

If Kris would like to do any demo work, my car has plenty of dinks he can demonstrate on!!

Depending on cost I might actually consider having them repaired, but it would have to be mega cheap.

There's a company in west yorkshire that someone at work used, and everyone else in the carpark asked if they could have theirs done as well! He was there all day! Came to about £60-70 per car but he took out all the dents up to a maximum number of panels, like 3 or 4, so you get the doors etc done in one job. Bargain really. The kind of thing you could have done annually like the MOT and the road tax :)

Hi guys sorry for the delay in replying. My door was a £70 job which is a bit cheap. Kris will do similar deals for fellow members and he will try and come and see what we are about on saturday at the GTG. The job is flawless and a great relief to me.

In future, park diagonally lengthways across 4 bays so that :

a) you can't damage anyone else's car
b) they can only ding your bumpers
c) you feel like homo superior
d) you can get out without doing a 93 point turn

jus' kiddin'

Good value and more importantly, your pleased with the outcome. :)

once sat in sainsburys car park waiting for ex to pop in and pick up a few bits, old couple in a honda accord pulled in and scrapped down the entire offside front door and wing. got out and told them what they had done, and they denied it even though the blue paint from there car had added a nice stripe to compliment the dent they had added to my girlfriends, good job there were witnesses!

Now also got a second ding in my car from door abuse when parked at gym, what do these cost to have tidied up? paint not broken, just a small rounded indent?

Just picked up on this thread - a bit late.
Excellent pictures though R2D2. Clearly shows the job in hand and the completed one.
I've had my 202 about 18 months now. When I first got it, although it had 88k on the clock, everything was in pristine condition, except for the obligatory few small stone chips on the windward end of the bonnet. In those 18 months I have acquired 4 bodywork dents, all in car parks  . The ironic thing is that each dent is on a different panel on the same side of the car, i.e.drivers door, rear passenger door, rear wing and the latest addition was collected last week on the front wing. Even more ironic is that they are all on my (drivers) side, which led me to believe they have been caused by ignorant passengers or 'couldn't care less' kids getting out of/into the offending adjacent vehicle, and not by drivers' doors (based on the fact that the majority of cars park front inwards when parking). This has caused me to do a bit of further research and to keep my eyes open when walking through car parks, and as I suspected on the few occasions (about 6 in last 6 months) I have witnessed such ignorance, it has always been the passenger(s) that have been the culprit, never yet a driver :) !
Anyway, I'm pleased you seem to have got it sorted out. Looks an excellent job to me.
LOL

Cheers m8! Kris is a bit of perfectionist, and I'm chuffed with the job. If anyone wants to inspect the job at the GTG on Saturday you are more than welcome.
