Just think this through; he buys a CL and then tasks you with selling it once he returns to the U.S.

You then keep the car, saying that you can't sell it and you'll make him an offer he can't refuse...:thumb:

W211 mercedes eclass is a good choice

Audi a6 a4 mercedes c class

They are all good cars in their own right but in terms of fulfilling the requirements / budget criteria they generally fall short.:thumb:

That Saab looks like terrific value for money....

They are but that one is almost 10 years old and no longer supported by a manufacturer so you may have to see it as a buy it, drive it and scrap it vehicle, They still have a following however and there are plenty of excellent independents around to look after them.

The Linear was an odd model in terms of equipment, Saab (well GM) kept adding and taking out features over the model life, That one has the better 5 speed gearbox and the improved chassis that came in after the 2001/02 MY .

Trim and build quality is not the best but acceptable and the 150hp turbo in that has good low down torque. For a spacious and safe family car they are worth looking at. The petrol engines have chain driven camshafts and are pretty reliable.
