I have just been reading up on the sbc system.
Does my car have it?
Does this mean its a dealer job to change the pads?
If I don't have it, I assume its the same procedure as changing the pads on any other car?

Not bad to do if you handy with the spanners, if doing fronts you might want to order a set of retaining pins for the pads just incase they are seized in as they will bend, then you have problems.
If doing rears the caliper is held on by 2 t40 torx bolts some are very tight.

When done switch the car on and let sbc prime, then pump the pedal.

There is a big sticker on the abs pump that says sbc.

Do I have to disconnect it? Have it reset by star?

Read lots of stories about brakes not working

Just make sure that the key is out of the ignition and you do not open a door whilst working on the brakes as I believe this causes the SBC pump to prime itself and could drive the pistons out and damage the caliper or you.

Do I need to disconnect it first. or will locking the car disable it?
