Hmm. Spotted this on a US forum. And there I was thinking that changing pads was easy....
Q. What must I do to prevent that the pistons coming out whilst replacing the brake pads. (electronic brake)
A. I am going to recommend you take your car to a Mercedes-Benz dealer, they will hook up their laptop computer to the car and de-energize the braking system. Then, THEY will install your new pads. Then THEY will re-energize the brake system. There is a procedure to disable the system without the use of the laptop but it is a complicated process and if the system is disturbed in any way (ie the remote is too near the car or a door is opened, or a rotor is moved enough for a speed sensor to recognize it) the system will pressurize the braking system with 300bar of pressure causing severe damage to anything or anyone in is way not to mention damage the braking system itself. So like I said, take it to a authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer for this operation.
