Hi Guy`s Here`a another great Bargain form Dell.
While browsing there site I came across the dimension 8400
this is a top of the range model and noticed I was able 2 increase
the pentium 4 2.8 to a 3g model and it subtract`s £100 .

I got my confirmation pdf recentley so get in quick before they realize
if you want a quality upgradable model for peanuts.

Change pentium from 2.8 to 3.0 SUBTRACT £100 & change to 1yr support
subtract £160 = £327 all in.

And if u didn't want a monitor i.e u'd got 1 already (like wen I orderd my little GX60 Dec 2003 - delete-monitor option, tho had to ring them up about it) then u'd save even more (I think around £50) .

I don't see that system

the 8400 starts with a 3.0ghz processor with the only options being 3.4ghz and 3.6 ghz upgrades

it's base price is £871 and the lowest I can get it down to is £679 if you take away the support option.

Looks like you got a great deal there which Dell have since closed down

Andy, Grasmere - it is on there, but IIRC it was listed under Small Business (not a problem, no restrictions on who can order).

It is correct - £279 + VAT, delivery is free at the checkout.

On the 8400 page it says "from £491" but when you click on "customise and buy" it says the cheapest one is £679. Your link above doesn't work so presumably they've taken it off

It is definately on there. Look under Small business, subtract the extended warranty and choose a P4 3.0, price comes up as £279 + VAT.

Nope, that comes up as £779+VAT. Ref no is D03842 rather than D03841 as on yours. A site search for D03841 produces nothing so I think you must have been lucky and got the last clearance one.

Ah yes, I can see it now! It depends on how you navigate through the site. If you click the main Dimension button down the left hand sidem this pc doesn't appear in the list, but if you click on the Dell Dimension Desktops on the top right of the page it does. Well spotted

Good luck guys - we've tried to order loads of deals like this from dell previously and they have denied them where they have been mistakes. You have not entered a contract of sale with them until they contact you to ack. your order.

Fingers crossed for you that the deal is correct though!

Yeah - I haven't ordered one (don't really need one either!), but as Scott says - Dell are wise to this situation.

However, £100 off is not so much of an error as the £1000+ off the 'Projector Entertainment Pack' that they c*cked up on last time!

Perhaps it is genuine, or perhaps they'll swallow this one as it's not too much of a big deal really?
