Cheap Fully Loaded W211??

Hi Guys,

Long time no post!

I'm selling my Range Rover and thinking of switching to a Mercedes of some sort.

What do you make of this?

Wow - that's one of the best-specced 211s I have ever seen!

I think the only things missing are full COMAND, linguatronic, HK audio (it says premium audio but I don't see the logos on the speakers), and a pano roof.

It's got the sunroof, distronic, hot and cold dynamic memory seats, 4-zone climate, keyless go, and so on...

Great colour too.

It has SatNav. Is that different to COMAND? If so, what extra's will COMAND give you?

COMAND is not the same as Audio50. To be honest you're not missing much, if anything really useful. COMAND plays DVDs - video and audio - which I think Audio50 would not.

But this motor has the savnav and telephone pre-wire so you are not missing much. There is plenty of argument on here as to whether COMAND is worth the effort (and expense) anyway!

The car has 4 owners and 59000 miles...

Its is modelled as an elegance and specced up - why not avantgarde and specc'd up?

It is in Luton, and being sold by what looks like a 'mercedes' breaker/salvage...

I am sure that should be enough to put anybody off....

i don't think audio 50 plays mp3's, but the 6 disc changer does if i remember correctly?

Its a very good spec, alot of rare options on it, not bad milage, id question the leasing company bit, but it can be leased and change owners.

id defo consider it if i was in your position

No. And the MB Ipod kit will not fit either.

The later CD changers do, but the one in my 03 w211 will not play mp3.

Only other difference between Comand and Audio50 is Comand has dvd in boot, Audio50 runs off a CD in the head unit.

I have Audio 50 and don't find it bad, but do occasionally miss the screen for re-routing.

I just paid slightly more than that for an '03 plate E270 CDI from a dealer with fmbsh , 98k miles and slightly less spec (no keyless go, seats heated but not ventilated, same Audio 50, multi-hole elegance wheels, 'phone pre-wired) and was happy with that price at a dealer, plus it gives me almost 40mpg, where my previous '05 plate E320 CDI V6 gave about 33mpg (but was worth it for the power delivery and effortless performance)
I have the latest discs for the Audio 50 and it's perfectly useable, although I miss having the map too on occasion.

Its a 7 year old petrol engined car. Probably changed hands every 2 years/1 year/ Not too bad. People probably didn't like its appetite at the pumps.

The original owner won't have spec'd those AMG wheels. With the multi countour seats, elegance spec it was probably someone who wanted a more comfortable cushiony car first

yes, thats probably where the AMG wheels came from and maybe the Audio 50, I'd be curious re the original spec of the car.

If its been in a prang a paint meter, HPI check and basic check of the car to see misalligned panel gaps will tell.

For example:There is someone at my work with a 211 and the rear bumper doesn't align with the rear light very well. In other words a poor repair. I've got a slightly bent panel round my head light, its been dented prior to me.
