Hi,

As most of you know, i have a w211 e270cdi, this malfunction just popped up, and was wondering what the best solution is to get for it, do you guys get it from MB or what?

Also, whereabouts does it go,

cheers!

Use the Mercedes solution, I always do. Buy the little bottles and make up 2 litres at a time. If the light is on it will need about 4 litres to refill.

Lift bonnet and look on the RH side you will see a flap with a washer sign on it. OK.;)

What would be a really great idea is if somebody invented something you could squirt in there periodically, that dissolves the gunge that builds up.

The pink MB stuff is good albeit not exactly cheap - about £3.80 IIRC

In the ML the wash reservoir is 7-litres I think!!

yes but it dilutes to 5 litres and it is without doubt
the best screen cleaner I have ever used

I agree.

Don't forget the anti-freeze washer fluid too if you are in an area where it might be cold.;)

Well i use halfords, 15ltrs for 9.99 (buy 2 get one free) diluted it keeps my three vehicles going for a year and works very well.

I only use the MB stuff now, it's not that expensive and it's the only thing to effectively combat the "smear-tronic" you get from a panoramic wiper!

A W202 is 5.1 litres BTW, 211 is probably more! :)

Halfords ready mixed windscreen wash (also a pink solution) is good and they always have buy one get one free offer which is still on. It comes in a big plastic container and I have always used it in the Sprinter and it is really good and just as good as MB's solution which I always have used for the cars.

I would now seriously consider using the Hanford’s stuff in the cars as have tested it.

Or just use corporation pop and rain-x.

i buy my screenwash from costco. £2.49 for 5 litres of concentrate.

5 litres is lasting me just over a week in this weather , so anything else is rather expensive.

I was walking in and out of the house carrying bottles of water to the car a couple of years ago.

Mum: What are you doing?
Me: Filling the screenwash on my car
Mum: Again? You were only doing it a few days ago!
Me: It was a couple of weeks ago!
Mum: I don't know how you manage to use so much, I don't think I've had to fill the screenwash in years!
Dad: [voice from another room] that's because *I* do yours!

Mothers eh? ;)

Wow! That is a lot - dirt track driving? :D

No leak. Just all the crap on the roads.

Got the windscreen and the lights to clean. When you clean the windscreen the lights clean automatically. And then theres the back window that always looks filthy at this time of the year.
