Is there a way to check the auto transmission oil on a W210 E240?

The handbook doesn't say, and I don't think I can see a dip stick for it
- perhaps I'm blind.

If it's low, will the dashboard scream at me?

The car won't tell you if the ATF is low other than flaring between changes.

You need the proper service dipstick to check the level. Do a search for the part number.

DB, Can you describe flaring.

I only ask as my car takes an increase in 500 revs before it starts accelerating when pushing it....

You can get the dipsticks from Ebay, I bought one recently from Ebay US. Cost me about £20 ish.

Does any one have the MB part number for the auto transmission dip stick for the W210 (7226 transmission)?

I have already previously purchased an auto transmission dip stick for my W202 (year 1997), MB part number 1405891521/00 but since having sold the W202 I have no record what the gearbox this measuring stick is for.

Thanks.

What is the number on the handle of the dipstick? If its 722.6 you can use it.

Apparently Jaguar use the same gearbox on their modern XJ6 models.
Friend of mine has checked my car's oil level using a "Jag" dipstick.
