"Chrome" bumper trim for W209

I know this is just white plastic underneath as my dealer once scraped some of the silver foil off while cleaning my car, now I've gone and scraped one while turning in to a narrow gateway. I never saw how they fixed it before so does anyone know if I can buy the silver strip on it's own and just clip it in place of the old one, or whether they're going to make me buy a new bumper quarter?

No-one any ideas on this? Don't really want to go to the dealer and ask them to fix it as I'm sure they will manage to inflate the cost beyond belief.

Also had to contact Autoglass (have to use them with insurance) to get a new windscreen. Altered my day off so I could be in one place and, when they did eventually turn up, they brought a coupe screen. Cab screens are apparently on back order at MB and it will be 6wks. Hope it's not late, car goes back in 8!

the silver strip should be sold seperately

it was on our 210 . Ask the parts department
