C Class Coupe
I 've got a C Class Coupe, less than a year old and the chrome/imitation chrome whatever it is, on the steering wheel is starting to peel off round by the volume controls. Anyone come across this before. Hopefully it's covered under warranty, off to main dealer tomorrow to get some pictures taken for them to submit to MB. Looking at it the only sensible repair is a new steering wheel.

That's not right. I'd get it into your dealers and look to have them replace the steering wheel. Can you post up a picture?

I have been to the dealers this morning, they have taken pics and will submit for warranty, which they expect will be authorised. They think MB will just change the steering wheel. I am uploading a pic so hopefully you can see where it is peeling

Yes, I can see what you mean.

Good to hear that your dealers are being helpful.

Let us know own things go.

Had a phone call from the dealer today, new steering wheel has arrived from Germany can they book it in to fit the new steering wheel. That's just under 2 weeks since I first took in to the dealer. I know these things shouldn't happen, but good service never the less

Really pleased to hear it is being sorted for you!

Great news.

Sorry for bringing an old thread back but this seems to be one of the only threads about this problem when googling. The steering wheel "chrome" trim of my 2012 W207 E350 which has covered only 18000 miles has started peeling. I took it to the dealer today who took pics and within 4 hours I got a call back stating that MB had approved a new steering wheel.

If anyone else has this problem, it really is worth going to the dealer and show them this thread if MB turn the claim down.
