Shortly buying a w204 c63 on an 11 plate and will be used as a second car doing approx 5k miles per annum. Any recommendations for classic car insurance?

Try Peter Best - they used to offer modern classic policies from 5 years on.

Back in my 20s I had my 2001 CLK55 AMG insured on a modern classic policy with them (car was 7 years old at the time), was around £300 PA IIRC.

Otherwise look at multi car - might not be as expensive as you think (dependant on the usual age/risk/area/occupation type stuff!)

Have you asked if they will “mirror” your no claims discount on to the additional car?

Your right they asked me if i had another daily driver , i said yes .The W124 is on cherished ins with only 3000 a year miles . The insurance company would not put me on to a classic ins its not old enough and she is 35 years young

True classic policies usually don't have NCD, so if you've earned this on another car you can't use it and it will be lost after 2 years. As above you can sometimes mitigate this with a bit of haggling, but it's something to be aware of.

My SL is 27 years old now and I keep it on a standard policy. With a low annual mileage and full NCD the insurance is pretty cheap.

Aviva is worth a look for its multi-car coverage. (They were competitive for multiple decade old Group 50 vehicles)

Whether it's a good fit depends on your risk profile.

As far as I know No insurance company will insure it as a classic it's only 13 year's old the best quote (C63s) which I went with was Tesco's with 5k miles cost's me £500 with 2 year's no claims which I got off the SLK55 AMG 🙂

With classic car insurance you can get a value guarantee, if written of in accident you get the amount £££££ you insured for.

A Plan, or Howdens as they are now called, insured my SL on a modern classic insurance and mirrored my no claims bonus for a very competitive rate so might be worth a call.

Most insurance companies have an option for agreed valuation on a low annual mileage car Adrian flux charge £70 extra for it and my tesco insurance its actually part of the policy you just have to ask about it 😀 Hopefully ill never need it
