Hi People

I now have a Audio 20 with in built bluetooth & 6 CD charger and it has the fiber optics connection at the back, My car has the fiber optics for the old Audio 20 with pre phone wiring W203 06, I bought the harness to be used from command online

Questions
Would this Audio 20 use the fiber optic already fitted or it it useless
Still pretty confused on the microphone setup ? cable from Headunit to overhead control or cable from head unit to a connection point ???????

I am struggling:doh:

The phone pre wiring is now redundant.

If you got the kit for cars with phone prewire you need to run the microphone cable to the overheard panel where the microphone is located. I believe it is easiest to run it to the left under the glovebox and up the side trim. Did you not get instructions with the kit?

Assuming you purchased the kit for cars with phone (as your car has a phone), then the microphones that you are going to connect to are already in the rear-view mirror

The lead with the kit therefore runs to the mirror, and you either need to swop the connectors over, or it will plug directly in, dependant on what version of the mirror you have. The instructions should have the colour codes if you are having to interface to other microphones (such as A/B class).

Existing phone system, CD changer, etc are all incompatible, so you can ignore the existing fibre completely.

Hi Richard

Thanks for the reply, Does this mean that the CD Charger inbuilt with this Headunit will not work as a CD changer
I got the instructions from command online but it was confusing the microphone cable had a loose hanging wire - so i should ignore loose wire swap connect the white mic connector to Head unit stalk and run to the over head light disconnect existing and plug this in - my Rear view mirror has 4 microphones I think beacuse it has 4 mouth piece kinda holes

Any existing cd changer you already had will not connect or work with the new Audio 20, the new headunit's in-built one of course will work.

The hanging wire needs to be connected to the antenna power wiring on the car (as per the instructions) or the antenna amps will not power up and there will be no radio signal
