Clean the MAF in W211

I have seen the Howto in W210 but for W211 is different, the MAF is behind the air filter.

I can't lift up the air filter holder as it has to be push toward the bulkhead.

There are three screws holding the MAF and I can't access the screw at 7 o'clock, Help.

Do I have to disconnect the tube holding the MAF below it?

Is the MAF worths the trouble cleaning it?

is it a V6?

Can't be from the description - V6 has two air filters (and MAFs) feeding into a single turbo inlet.

To the OP - if its dirty then its worth cleaning (oil film will make it under-read and so limit performance) - have to whip it out to know!

Do you have any symptoms you want to try to fix?

is it a V6?

No, just a 1.8l 4 pots.

I tried, have to remove the down tube but access is so restricted, I gave up as I didn't want to damage the fuel line beside it. Unclipping the tube on the MAF is a pain itself. Suppose to push the air filter holder toward the bulkhead but the oil filter tube is in the way. It getting more and more difficult DIY on newer Merc.

Almost there, maybe next time when the weather get better and I have more time.
