Clk 230 auto engine wont start

Hello, has anyone had any trouble with their car not starting from key in ignition.. Basically the battery is full all dash lights come on, the gear leaver is in Park there is no secondary imobeliser and i havent spilt anything down the console.. It's well strange it wont even turn over or make any noise.. all that happens are lights on dash come on?? oh and ive also changed the battery in the key fob.. Thanks any help would be great..

If it doesnt make any noise or doesnt even turn over check the starter.

Have you tried your other key?

Yea ive tried the spare key, just thought they may be a cut off switch somewhere or if anyone new of a common fault?

Do you get a metallic slash type sound when you insert the key into the ignition?

All the lights are coming up on the dash so yes the sound you are referring to has to be present. I think it will be a starter problem.

There is a purple wire in the OSF fuse box that is the starter feed. Do you have 12V there?

No sound what so ever, just all lights up as if it's imobilsed?

Do what Olly (BlackC55) has suggested and it will either eliminate or confirm the starter being the issue. Should be easy to check the voltage there as its easily accesible.
