My injector is leaking took it to MB for a reseating but they told me and shown me that it was leaking from the top were the top screws to the body of the injector, so a new one or recon is needed.

Seen on Ebay that there are rebuild kits, but cant find one for this injector, does any one know if there is a kit for this, Part number A6130700687 (Code 2) Bosch number 0445110121.

Also watching on Utube, it seem's easy roughly speaking to just remove the top and fit the new sealing washer if a kit is available.

You think you can remove the top part with the body still in engine.
just itching to have a go.

Thanks andy

MB are right.

Fit a new or recon one, don't mess with injector repair kits unless your very familiar with rebuilding injectors.

Actually it is easy to do. You can indeed remove the solenoid with the injector still mounted but TBH It's only one stretch bolt to undo to take the injector off. Injectors are pretty simple (mechanically/electronically), it's just a solenoid the opens to allow fuel past a valve with a couple of o-rings.

I'd take the injector off though so you can clean the bore, buy a new seal (just a copper washer) and ALWAYS replace the stretch bolt and torque it to the correct (very low) setting.. I had to buy a new torque wrench when I did mine as my normal one wouldn't go low enough.

If it won't come out, use penetrating oil (or coke as a last resort) and let it soak. If it still won't come out Id attach a sliding hammer to the solenoid thread as by then you've probably broken the seal.

MB do a bore cleaning kit (tube of sandpaper on a handle) that works well..

It might be a different problem but My old 270 cost my dad 2.5k for injectors at MB and they said it was the only option then they went again when I brought the car a good few k miles after, I found an real good specialist who cleaned them up and replaced the seals for £15 half an hours labour for each one. He is pretty good and cheap mind, I've used him for the past few years.

Not a simple thing at all and very easy to mess up if you remove the solenoid.

Coke is a myth perpetrated by MB as well :) Use Diesel and carb cleaner mixed.

MB injector cleaning kit W 611 589 006 800 it isn't sand paper on a stick, its in the link in my signature.
