CLK damaged door

Hi all, wifes just done the passanger door on a skip (skips fault of course) Does anyone know if the doors are the same on prefacelift and facelift W208 CLK's and are coupe doors the same as cabriolet. cheers

I'm just having my drivers door replaced due to dozy builder man reversing out of a driveway into me while i was sitting in traffic.

£680 for a new door from MB thank you , they don't sell door skins any more.

Thanks Howard, that's brilliant. I've seen a couple on EBay the right colour so just a swop over and their not a lot of money.

I've found two in Brilliant Silver, one just round the corner from me so fingers crossed. If not got a couple of friends who have paint shops so no big problem really. Just a bit of a pain. Would have worse if I'd had to buy a new door!

Well, got another door this morning which looks identical in colour to the damaged door so that's a bonus! It's got everything apart from the interior door trim. Couple of questions if anybody can help..... The door handle top is chrome. does this mean it's from an Elegance which would mean changing the window glass as well as the handle as my car is an Avantgarde. Also is it best to change everything in the first place from the old damaged door to the new door. Any ideas chaps? Cheers Lockking

I thought Chrome handle trim was on all but Classic spec, maybe it wasn't on early version cars, but became standard.

My very late 2002 avantgarde has no chrome on the door handles.

Your handles are painted, is the one with chrome?

Elegance has chrome strip on the handle and green tinted glass.

Avantgarde has fully painted handles and blue tinted glass.

Good luck changing the glass.

Thanks Howard, that's what I thought. Think I'll just change everything from the damamged door. I know it all works. Cheers for your help.

Saying that I'll get the door on first and go from there. Wasn't thinking straight. Pointless making more work for meself!
