My Car is the the garage today having a new front lower suspension arm fitted. so for safety I am having both lower arms replaced. However I got a call late today saying that they are having problems as one of the arms are seized in to the hub.

They cant seem to be able to remove it, their going to soak it over night in some sort of fluid. I am going down in the morning to have a look.

Any suggestions on how this should be tackled just dont wont to have to buy a new hub.

Thanks

I just commented on your other post, I wouldn't be impressed with your garage if they can't do a simple task like that.

No Its not a a indie, but a normally good place. I have been down this morning and they have fused in to the hub. Fingers crossed it will be sorted today.

Is it really necessary on a 10 year old car to take it specialist. Its a control arm.

I am just unlucky mine have seized in.

A decent ball joint splitter and a sharp blow with a hammer will release it. I have fitted loads over the years. Not one has ever seized.

Thanks, Blacks. I am sure they will get it sorted. I have given them to the weekend now to finish it and mot it for me. I am having to go away tonight for work and wont be Back until Friday night so don't need it back in a rush. Just want it back fixed.

some jobs just dont go to plan, so ignore the previous comments, its not your fault nor is it the garages fault, your car needs sorting so you have two options, DIY or pay the garage, honestly its no-ones fault, sh** happens on the simplest of jobs.....its called...........car ownership
