CLK wheel arch rust!

Today, I washed my brothers V-Reg (99) 320 CLK only to discover all 4 wheel arches have signs of rust!

The rear drivers side is the worst with large orange bits visible.


What are the options? He has had it just under a year, will the dealers pay?


Im a big Merc fan, but this is increadable that a car about 4 years old looks like a 1986 Popular Plus Fiesta

I've seen one CLK ( X reg ) with more rusts on the wheel arches than there were on my W210 R Reg. Surely it is some inherent production defect that effect the cars for that period of time.

As your brothers car is 99 I think he'll have a god chance claiming the rust warranty on it as it should be covered under the MOBILO 30 years.

Hope he's succesful with the claim!
