CLS left for 2 days and now dead as a dodo

OK, for anyway looking for a battery for a CLS55 (presumably E55 too) the standard MB one is about £220 and is an AGM one and not the one I was recommended by Eurocarparts. Oddly, Varta themselves recommended the standard lead acid and had the AGM one listed as an option only. I hope ECP take this thing back as it has been fitted for a few days

Euro car parts may be extremely expensive but it was al extremely easy to get a refund. A local motor factors said the original battery is on 90% health (have not even charged it, just took off the car) so it seems the issue was a drain... Hopefully a one off but if it comes back it'll be going to MB main dealer (unless someone could recommend a local specialist?) 👍

I’m confused now as your first post said the battery was completely dead.

Now, without charging it it’s fine ….. and you’ve flattened another battery in the meantime.

Have I missed something ?

No it was jump started buy the breakdown recovery guy. Then running the car charged it. I bought a replacement and took off the old battery as I wanted to be sure it was healthy before a week of work ahead. Seems i was too hasty and it was a random drain on a good battery...
