CLS left for 2 days and now dead as a dodo

OK, for anyway looking for a battery for a CLS55 (presumably E55 too) the standard MB one is about £220 and is an AGM one and not the one I was recommended by Eurocarparts. Oddly, Varta themselves recommended the standard lead acid and had the AGM one listed as an option only. I hope ECP take this thing back as it has been fitted for a few days

Euro car parts may be extremely expensive but it was al extremely easy to get a refund. A local motor factors said the original battery is on 90% health (have not even charged it, just took off the car) so it seems the issue was a drain... Hopefully a one off but if it comes back it'll be going to MB main dealer (unless someone could recommend a local specialist?)

I’m confused now as your first post said the battery was completely dead.

Now, without charging it it’s fine ….. and you’ve flattened another battery in the meantime.

Have I missed something ?

No it was jump started buy the breakdown recovery guy. Then running the car charged it. I bought a replacement and took off the old battery as I wanted to be sure it was healthy before a week of work ahead. Seems i was too hasty and it was a random drain on a good battery...
